Most of the cycleMultiTool cycle analysis operations can be performed by clicking on the buttons that you will see arranged at the bottom of the indicator panel. Many options, however, reside in the indicator menu. You can access the cycleMultiTool indicator menu at any time by right-clicking in your chart and selecting the Edit Chart option from the pop-up menu. You can also hold down your SHIFT key and click on the information bar that you see displayed at the top-left of the cycleMultiTool indicator panel.

Note: When clicking on any of the indicator buttons you must be holding down the SHIFT key on your keyboard. |
The three cycle-algorithm buttons (i.e., Goertzel, Mesa, and Lin Predic) will always be available and they will always appear at the bottom-left of the indicator panel. The remaining buttons to the right will vary depending upon which cycle algorithm has been chosen. The currently selected cycle algorithm button will always be highlighted in a bold font.
Goertzel |
When Goertzel is selected your options will be:
MESA |
When Mesa is selected your options will be:
|
Note: When Mesa is selected there will be +/- toggle buttons displayed above the Mesa button. You can use these to adjust the number of Poles being used in the calculation. |
Lin Predic |
When Lin Predic is selected your options will be:
|
Note: When Lin Predic is selected there will be +/- toggle buttons displayed above the Lin Predic button. You can use these to adjust the number of Poles being used in the calculation. |
As far as which cycle analysis algorithm to select, that is entirely up to you. In general, though, the Goertzel and Mesa algorithms perform best with price series that exhibit clear cyclical action while the Lin Predic algorithm fares better with price series that are very noisy (such as often seen on lower timeframes).
