Yes, it should. All time series exhibit some form of cyclical behavior which, in turn, will be identified by the cyclePack indicators.
Refer to this topic for a detailed explanation.
The cyclePack scripts make use of the Wingdings font collection (e.g., Wingdings, Wingdings 2 and Wingdings 3) to create the arrow symbols. Install these fonts on your computer and the actual arrows will be displayed instead of the "p" and "q".
This is probably a Regional Settings issue. Load your Windows Control Panel, go into the Regional Settings program and check your Decimal Symbol. It should be a period ("."). If it is set to something else (such as a comma) then set it back to a period and the cyclePack indicators should now work correctly.
Yes, it is to be expected when applying spectrum analysis techniques to financial data. Many of the underlying cycles will appear to change on even a bar-to-bar basis. Typically, however, the stronger cycles will remain fairly consistent and cyclePack makes it easy to identify these cycles use them for trading purposes. Refer to this topic for a discussion of cycle analysis as it applies to financial data.
A lot of testing went into the selection of the default parameters and, as a rule, they will deliver the best performance. Ultimately, the optimum settings to use will depend upon the particular security and time frame you are trading. Some securities exhibit strong cyclical behavior while others do not. It is best to experiment with historical data after market hours to get a feel for what settings work well in your particular situation. Refer to this topic for some usage guidelines.
The most effective method that we have found is to anchor the cyclePack indicators 3 or 4 bars after the most recent well-defined swing low or swing high displayed on your chart. Typically, once you load a chart you will be able to identify a clear swing high or swing low somewhere within the most recent 100 bars of price data. Anchor the cyclePack indicator a few bars past the actual top (for a swing high) or bottom (for a swing low). Use this anchor point until a new well-defined swing high or swing low is formed and then re-anchor the indicator.
