Study Offset
The default value is 0 with a valid range from 0 to 200.
This parameter governs the Point of Origin of the cycle analysis. By default, the Study Offset is set to "0" which means that the cycle analysis period will end with the most recent price bar. However, there may be times when you want to perform a cycle analysis based on data from an earlier time period and this parameter allows you to do this. For example, if you viewing a chart and you want to see what the cycle landscape looked like 50 bars ago, you can set your Study Offset parameter to "50" and the indicator will be recalculated based only upon the data that was present 50 bars ago. This is a quick way to do some visual backtesting.
Note that the Anchor button that you see in the cycleAnalyzer, cycleProjector and cycleProjectorXT indicator panes will accomplish the same thing. Simply click once on the Anchor button and then double-click on any location in your chart. The Point of Origin will be relocated to this new point on the chart and the cycle analysis will be performed. Also note that you can click on the Zero button to quickly return the Point of Origin to the most recent bar.
When using the Study Offset feature, remember that the vertical grey line will always highlight the current point-of-origin and remember that the cyclePack indicators only use data to the left of the vertical grey line in performing their calculations.
