Source Bar Interval

 

The default value is 0 (e.g., disabled) with a valid range from 0 to 360.

 

This parameter controls the bar interval that will be used for the actual cycle analysis and is used to force the cyclePack indicators to perform the cycle analysis on a larger bar interval and then extrapolate that cycle analysis into the (smaller) bar interval you are currently viewing. For example, if you loaded the cycleAnalyzer indicator into a 1-min chart, you could set the Source Bar Interval parameter to 10 and the cycleAnalyzer indicator would then use the 10-min bar interval to perform the cycle analysis. It would then extrapolate the analysis back down into the 1-min bar interval and display the results.

 

This feature can be used in situations where the viewing interval is extremely noisy, or otherwise not conducive to cycle analysis. By selecting a larger bar interval for the cycle analysis process, you may obtain better results.

 

You can disable this feature at any time by setting the Source Bar Interval parameter back to 0.

 

Usage Restrictions

 

•This feature is only available with intraday bar intervals and will not work with tick data or with daily/weekly/monthly bar intervals.

 

•The Source Bar Interval selected must be larger than the bar interval you are currently viewing.

 

•The MA Period parameter defaults to a value of 1 whenever the Source Bar Interval feature is in use.
