Installation

If the cyclePack collection is not already pre-installed on your computer, it will be delivered to you in the form of a Zip file. The Zip file contains the cyclePack EFS script files, some supporting DLL utility files and a copy of the cyclePack User Guide in Windows Help format.

Unzip the cyclePack Zip file that was sent to you into any empty directory on your hard drive. The name/location of the directory does not matter, just as long as you remember where it is.

After you have unzipped the file, you should see the following files in the directory you selected for the unZip process:

dsDriver09.dll

dsDriver10M.dll

dsDriver12.dll

dsDriver20.dll

__cycleDriver9.efs

__cycleDriver10.efs

__cycleDriver12.efs

__cycleDriver20.efs

cycleAnalyzer-VX.XX.efs

cycleMABands-VX.XX.efs

cycleProjector-VX.XX.efs

cycleProjectorXT-VX.XX.efs

cyclePack.chm

where VX.XX in the file names above would reflect the current cyclePack version.

DLL Files

The 4 DLL files need to be copied into the eSignal Program directory. On most Windows computers, this directory will be:

C:\Program Files\eSignal

and, again, the files that need to be copied into this directory are:

dsDriver09.dll

dsDriver10M.dll

dsDriver12.dll

dsDriver20.dll

EFS Script Files

The 8 EFS script files should be copied into either a new or existing eSignal Formula directory. On most Windows computers, the eSignal Formula directories can be found at:

C:\Program Files\eSignal\Formulas

It is recommended (but not necessary) that you create a new Formula Directory for this installation and call it CyclePack.

The files that need to be copied into this Formula Directory are:

__cycleDriver9.efs

__cycleDriver10.efs

__cycleDriver12.efs

__cycleDriver20.efs

cycleAnalyzer-VX.XX.efs

cycleMABands-VX.XX.efs

cycleProjector-VX.XX.efs

cycleProjectorXT-VX.XX.efs

where VX.XX in the file names above would reflect the current cyclePack version.

Once all of the files have been copied into the correct locations, you can load any of the cyclePack scripts into any Advanced Chart. The cyclePack scripts that can be loaded into a chart are:

cycleAnalyzer-VX.XX.efs

cycleMABands-VX.XX.efs

cycleProjector-VX.XX.efs

cycleProjectorXT-VX.XX.efs

where VX.XX in the file names above would reflect the current cyclePack version.

To load a script into an Advanced Chart, right-click anywhere in the chart and a pop-up menu will appear. Near the bottom of the menu you will see a Formulas option. Click on the Formulas menu option and you will see a list of all of your eSignal Formula directories. Select the directory into which you installed the cyclePack files and then select one of the 4 main script files listed above. The script you selected will then load into your Advanced Chart.

Please note that the 4 EFS script files that have file names starting with two underline characters (e.g., __cycleDriver9.efs, __cycleDriver10.efs, __cycleDriver12.efs and __cycleDriver20.efs) are utility files that are used by the main scripts. These 4 utility files cannot be loaded directly into an Advanced Chart. If you attempt to load one of these utility scripts directly into any Advanced Chart, you will see an error message.

User Guide

The last file included in the Zip is simply this User Guide in Windows HTML Help format. Just double-click on this file (e.g., cyclePack.chm) and the User Guide will load.
